Appeal to the President of Sri Lanka

Your Excellency, we thank you for the way you are running the country in spite of great difficulties brought about due to the terrorist problem in Sri-Lanka. However, we appeal to you to make sure that you govern within the rule of law and above all the actions of your ministers are transparent.

We Appeal to you to use the good officers of the UN and its agencies to protect the Tamil people who are in between your government forces and the terrorist groups. We hear time and time again that you believe in a political solution to the present day problem. We think the time is now to bring about devolution and grant regional autonomy or state or provincial autonomy as provided by the 13th Amendment to the constitution.

We deplore the killing of innocent people and above all Journalists and it is high time they are given adequate protection, and we agree with you that this should be done immediately. As you are well aware without a vibrant and free press there is no democracy.

We are planning to appeal to the President of the US to help the present situation without violating the sovereignty of Sri Lanka.

Our prayers are for you and the people of Sri Lanka.
